Constellation Productions is proud to present – Ch!cken
Constellation’s professional international cast will tour this award winning play in the region between 1st April and 10th May 2018. Suitable for ages 7-13, Ch!cken has been performed over 6,000 times making it one of the most successful TIE (Theatre in Education) plays ever. It is a perfect example of how a simple production can have a huge impact on the audience that is both funny and moving.
Mark Wheeller’s powerful play tells the story of two cousins and leads the audience to believe that one will be killed in a cycle accident because he refuses to wear a cycle helmet. Ultimately however, it is the second cousin that is killed in a game of “Chicken” one morning while they walk to school. The survivor never tells anyone his part in the accident, but lives with his dreadful secret. As he says “there is no known cure for a moment’s stupidity.”
As part of this production, Constellation is also pleased to offer your school the opportunity to participate in workshops around the themes of this play – road safety, cycle safety and friendships.
This is a wonderful opportunity to learn through theatre with some of the region’s most experienced actors – breathing life into important themes for upper primary and lower secondary students.
